Great table in function and looks. Sturdy construction. Finish is not durable for heavy use, however. Refinished the top with polyurethane and now it is the perfect table. My recommendation is to buy the table, then put a coat of polyurethane on the top before use. For 8 bucks worth of poly and 15 minutes of work you will have a great table that you would be paying twice the price for the equivalent.

Would you expect anything better from communist china?didnt think so.Bottom piece had screw tip protruding through veneer & top look like it had spill stains on it.No quality control...oh wait, its from china, duh.

Firstly, it is not solid oak as the title suggests. I may have missed it somewhere in the description but this not the cheap "paste and sawdust" wood either. It's heavy (about 100lbs.) and the pieces are rock solid.I order online a lot, and I've never seen a sturdier packaging. It took me ten minutes just to get inside and that was only after abandoning neatness and slicing along the seams of the box. I cannot stress this enough... THIS IS A TWO MAN ASSEMBLY! I am very handy, and there isn't much more than a phillips head and a pre packaged wrench, but the sheer weight of the pieces make putting this together alone extremely difficult.The assembly instructions leave much to be desired, be warned. And don't tighten the bolts until everything is together or the legs wont align with the the top half of the table. This results in a lot of lifting and flipping of the table. The mechanical arms will scratch you and your hardwood floors if given the chance. I had to remove the tabletop from the mechanical arms and the top portion of the table. They come as one big piece but there is no way to access the screw holes with the top on, and no way to support the table if its upside down (assuming you don't have help). It was simple enough to remove and replace it, ten screws on the underside.When finished, the table came together nicely, despite seeming wobbly and misfitting in spots as I put it together. The lift top is a perfect height for my couch, but I've had some trouble with leveraging it back down while remaining seated (laziness). The legs don't reach the floor, it sits on its casters so expect it to roll on hardwood, but not too much since its so heavy. A little nervous about how the wood will stand up over time to stains and wear but for now it is the most handsome piece of furniture in an otherwise second-hand-furnished apartment.

My "Primo" Rectangular Lift-Top Oak Coffee Table arrived from the Steve Silver Company with bubbled veneer on top. A replacement top was sent to me by the Steve Silver Company. The replacement top also had bubbled veneer! Horrible quality control at the Steve Silver Company. See the 2 customer images I have uploaded.
